Back to The Oldest Story Ever Told Intro

Sample Activities

There are many different versions of Cinderella. Our story tells versions from China and India. As a class, research different versions of Cinderella through your library or on the Internet. On a world map, mark the location of each version. Is the story widely distributed? Are there many versions in one area? Discuss your findings with the class.

Which version of the Cinderella stories you saw today did you like the best? Why? Pretend that your teacher is a publisher, and he or she wants to publish one of the stories you heard today. Write a letter to your teacher telling him/her why your favorite story should be the one published.
