Voices
of Hunger is based on nearly one hundred interviews,
conducted at different food pantries across the state.
This musical variety performance
is designed to raise awareness about hunger in New York State.
A silent epidemic, this production illustrates that hunger shows
no bias and that food insecurity can affect anyone regardless
of age, gender, level of education or employment status. This assembly also
highlights some
common hardships that teenagers may take for granted such as
job-security, medical expenses and the general cost of living in today’s
economy.
